I've spent almost a fortnight in Japan now backpacking around Tohoku. However, I've finally reached my destination, Sapporo, where I'll be staying a month before heading to Kyoto for another 6 months. It feels strange stopping off in a place after being on the move constantly. I almost don't want to settle down and I'm itching to move on to my next destination. I guess that's what happens when you uproot yourself... anyone else felt the same?
Prior to this trip I'd lived in Sheffield, in the same room for 5 years, whilst everyone around me moved about. Everything felt a bit stale, so I finally decided to follow my heart and move to Japan - maybe not permanently, but for a while at least.
Honestly, so far, it's been the best decision i've made in ages. Traveling alone and braving a foreign country has been so empowering and liberating that I feel like I've grown a new skin and I'm entirely refreshed. All the stresses and worries I had back in the UK about my future have dissipated. Not to say that I won't experience the same worries here, but at least I had a break from them whilst on the move. I highly recommend taking the time out to travel alone
Anyway, regardless of how much I want to continue traveling, it's nice to sit down and find time to paint. Apologies in advance for the amount of photos I'll be uploading onto DA in the next few days. Some of the sites I've come across have blown my mind. I hope you enjoy them as much as I did.
I hope this finds you all well and thanks for listening
Love
B
